“The “WILD Zeitung” is the end result of a project conducted in two German as a Foreign Language classes at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the Technical University of Berlin. The project was designed to familiarize students with one of the most significant publications in German culture by engaging them in its production process. The classes, one at beginner- and one at intermediate level, took pictures of their surroundings in Weimar and Berlin, engaged in a critical analysis of the BILD Zeitung newspaper, and then crafted sentences that mimicked those found in BILD. Stefanie Johansen, M.F.A., then flawlessly interpreted the students’ pictures and text.”
